Our Philosophy
We Believe our program enhances children’s development in all areas of the “Early Years Learning Framework”.
In respect of Belonging we believe:
· In fostering positive partnerships with families, as they are the children’s first and most important educators,
· In creating an atmosphere that encourages strong, working relationships between staff, parents, children, the local schools, other professionals and the local community,
· In liaising with other services and specialists to assist in planning and enriching our environment for all children. Including children with special needs,
· Learning is enhanced in an atmosphere where you feel that you belong,
· In recognizing the original owners of our land, to develop strong links with local Aboriginal people and endeavour to pass on knowledge about Aboriginal culture.
In respect of Being we believe:
· Every child is a unique individual, with their own interests, learning style, abilities, family values and culture that should be acknowledged and accepted,
· That children learn through play. “ Play provides opportunities for children to learn as they discover, create, improvise and imagine.” EYLF
· In the importance of providing a play-based program, that develops children’s social, emotional, language, physical, cognitive, literacy and numeracy skills,
· That play should be fun, exciting, hands-on, challenging, stimulating, relaxing, and enjoyable,
· That through painting, drawing, building, singing and dancing children can express what they are thinking, feeling, experiencing and learning.
· Our playground offers a natural environment for the children to explore and enjoy,
In respect of Becoming we believe:
· That children’s early learning influences their entire life,
· That Pre-School prepares children for School by offering a similar routine, program, hours and holidays,
· That Pre-School makes for a smoother transition to school,
· In fostering an environmentally responsible community that promotes a sustainable future,
· Our staff maintain a high degree of professionalism through mutual support of our colleagues, commitment to professional development and an awareness of current issues in early childhood education,
